Hey, I’m Kari.

I strive to help authors harness the potential of their own stories through thoughtful editing and audiobook production.

My Approach

Collaborative

You are the creator of your story. I am here to work alongside you to help your story reach its fullest potential, whether it’s meant to be read, heard, or both.

Flexible

Are you looking for a manuscript evaluation?

What about an in-depth letter providing specific guidance on how to strengthen the pacing of your latest thriller?

Do you need a quick clean-up of the audio you’ve just recorded for your newest self-published audiobook?

I tailor my offerings to what you need—both in the scope of your project, and in a way that works for your budget.

A Little More About Me

I have always loved books. In fact, both of my parents worked as librarians, but to rebel against what was expected of me, I chose to major in biology as an undergrad. After graduating in 2018 with a degree in biology, I quickly realized that a career in STEM was missing the creativity and connection that I’ve always felt when reading a book. A career in publishing became my new focus but felt unobtainable because of my former choice to focus on science instead of literature. After a bit of research, I discovered the Book Publishing program at Portland State, which has served as a vital piece of my transition from biology to publishing.

During my time in the publishing program, I served as the audiobooks production manager for Ooligan Press, the student-run press that is a central component of the program. Additionally, I took foundational courses in editing, marketing, book design, and acquisitions that provided me insight into the entire publishing process.
